Bettina, I work in Statoil (a Norwegian oil and gas company), and we have had
approximately the same requirement as you. Since we use IS Oil which is not yet
available on newer releases than 3.1 we are using the strategy mentioned by
Rakesh and commented on by Peter. Our users get their work items in the Lotus
Notes mailbox.
Work item messages are displayed in a customised form where they get the work
item text as message subject, see the description in the message body and have
four actions available. Two of these are for reading a WI attachment if it
exists and executing the workitem, the last two takes the user to pages on the
intranet for troubleshooting or a process description.

If you are interested in our solution you may contact us directly. We are not a
software company selling off the shelf solutins, but sometimes our solutions
have been sold on an as-is basis (source code included) to other companies. I
have no idea what price Statoil would want. The ideas have hereby been made
available for free.

Subject: Sending Workitems to Lotus Notes

Hi all,

has anybody made experience in sending workitems to Lotus Notes?
What tasks are to do and what kind of system requirements are necessary
(e.g. SAP Mapi)?

We would like to send some of the workitems of our Workflow to Lotus Notes
because the user (manager) doesn't want to work with the SAP Business
Workplace.

Is there any kind of documentation?

Best wishes,

Bettina
