Work items do not appear in agent's in-box

You need to see how your task is assigned for each document type for early
archiving.
Each document type is assigend to a task and the org. unit.
So your org. assignement to workflow tasks really defines possible agents only,
the early archiving configuration desides which agent each document will go to.

Dear workflowers !
 
We're starting a workflow for early archiving with standard task TS 7869 on
4.0B. The work items are assigned to org. units following the settings in
archive customizing. This worked fine in the beginning: the selected agents
shown in the work items could find the items in their in-boxes.
After some changes in the organizational structure the assignment to the
selected agents is still o.k. in the work items but they do not appear in the
user's in boxes ! The org structure seems ok - to me ;-).
- by the way: the system should be able to handle a user who is assigned to
more thhan one position, shouldn't it ?
 
We changed the task (different from TS 7869), we changed the assignment of the
document type from org. unit to position, we changed the org structure to a one-
to-one assignment (each user to exactly one position), - no effects. Refreshing
the org. structure doesn't help either.
 
The behaviour is the same in the test system after transport.
I'd appreciate any idea that could help us !
