Background processing of MR1M

hello WMW:

here is what i checked:

(1) incorporate the bdc session in an online report and run it with se38 ->
works fine
(2) schedule the report as a batch job that runs every minute -> works fine
(every time)
(3) incorporate the bdc session into an object method and run the method in
test mode -> works fine
(4) incorporate that method into a wf single step task, set it to dialog
(general task) and run it in a multistep wf -> works fine
(5) switch the task to background and run it in the multistep wf -> system
returns a subrc of 1 (document cannot be posted)

it is not a wf-batch authorization issue. it must be something else... but
what ?

by the way, the tac i'm using is (the ominous) MR1M under 4.5b - maybe that
explains it...

thx,

martin

Hello Martin,

have you already checked if the transaction behaves
the same way in the background?
If you run transactions in the background the sequence
of screens could be different or additional screen
scould pop-up (e.g. like in FB01 the allocation block
comes up automatically per line item when you run the
TXN as a batch input session).
As a test, that usually works fine, you can start the
batch input recorder (TXN: SHDB) with MR1M and check
if the TXN still looks the same way.

Good luck,
