Hmm, in that case we'll just have to agree to disagree ;-)
My view on this is that in case of errors, the event linkage deactivation is desirable to avoid too many crashed workflows (which of course have to be cleaned up), with some workflow installations, these could be in the thousands very quickly..
Also, an error in a test or productive system that leads to event linkage deactivation should be very rare, as that mechanism only kicks in with very grave errors.. a simple authorisation problem of a user or another temporary error can be recified usually without transports or the like..

I always thought that switching on or off the event linkage of a workflow
task should be treated like a transaction data not a customizing step. One
reason is because when there is error in the workflow for any reason, the
event linkage is automatically deactivated. And, it seems like everytime
this happen we need to transport again the event linkage which is not quite
practical, I think.
