Columns in workitem descripton ?

Hi Martin,
I think you're looking for Dynamic Columns in the inbox.
You don't mention what release you are on?
 
In 4.0 you find this in the IMG under
Basis > Bus Mgt > Workflow > Basic Settings (System, SAP Business Workflow)
It's called "Specify dynamic columns for integrated inbox"
 
In later releases it's in the same place but called "Determine dynamic
columns for Business Workplace"
 
I think there's some documentation in the R/3 library as well but the
reference escapes
me at the moment.
 
Basically you specify the task e.g. TS30000016 and then you can use the drop
downs to select
container elements you want to use as columns.  You have up to 6 columns you
can add per
task.  You can restrict it to certain users, if you don't want to do that
enter "*" for the user.
 
This can be useful stuff - for instance in BBP, we use the dynamic columns
to allow
a manager to approve/reject a shopping basket without having to look at the
nitty gritty (ok, so
you need a bit of web magic for that but even so, quite helpful).

hello all:
 
on sapphire in july i saw a workflow demo in which the workitem description
in the inbox was divided into several columns. the feature was that sorting
was possible with each column in the description and not only with the
description as one sort field.
 
has anyone an idea about how this is set up in the workflow inbox, i.e. if i
have a workitem text :   company code - SAP document number - fiscal year -
approve, how do i create a column for each of the four description items ?
