This week, Mambos is all about 2s. We've got 2 of the best DJs in the city teaming up this week to collaborate behind one DJ booth. What happens when you mix DJ el Turco and DJ Ricardo in one night? A lot of very good music and dancing, that's what. And for Mambos' advanced beginner lesson, we have Leña Dance Co. in the house to teach a bilingual salsa lesson. Spanish and English, you ask??? Not exactly what they had in mind, but it's possible if you ask. 4 instuctors from Leña will be splitting into twos to teach one combination On1 and On2 at the same time. Read below for more details....
Lessons This Week:
On the first floor, MIT Salsa will be teaching an intro to salsa AND club-style cha cha dancing this week. These lessons are always fun for beginners and you'll learn enough in one hour to keep you dancing all night long! No partner or experience necessary. **Please try to arrive early for the beginners lessons to guarantee yourself a good spot in the circle. The lessons are filling up in the first half hour.
On the second floor, Mambos is pleased to have Leña Dance Co. in the house this Friday night! Leña will be teaching Mambos' first-ever "bilingual" salsa lesson. No. We don't mean that they'll be speaking Spanish and English during the lesson (but...they can if you want them to).
They'll be "bilingual" because--out of the 4 instructors teaching this week--2 will be teaching a combination On1 and 2 will be teaching the same combination On2. That means, no matter what beat you feel or hear in the music, you'll get to learn one of Leña's slick combinations
All lessons begin at 9:30pm. Free with admission, no partner necessary.
* All Ages!
* DJ Ricardo AND DJ el Turco
* $10 for members, $15 for guests
* Only 2 blocks from the Arlington T station.
