***BEGINNING NEXT WEEK: All advanced beginner salsa combinations will be put onto YouTube for you to view and to practice. We will be filming this past Tuesday's move at Mambos for our new YouTube channel.
Monday's Beginner Lesson Information:
Beginners are welcome; no experience or partner necessary.
The first half hour of the lesson (7-7:30) introduces new dancers to
salsa. In this half hour, you will learn the basic steps, the basic right
turn and the cross-body lead. From 7:30-8:30 we will be teaching new
material. All students already familiar with the basics should arrive to
class at 7:30 to learn new material.

Tuesday's Advanced Beginner Lesson Information:
7:00PM - 8:30PM (followed by social dancing). Advanced beginner
dancers should feel very comfortable with the basics of salsa
dancing, such as timing, the cross-body lead and inside/outside
turns.

2.) FREE MEMBERSHIPS to Mambos this Friday to all MIT Salsa Club Students!
This Friday, Mambos is giving free memberships to MIT Salsa Club!
If you have heard about Mambos and you've been wanting to check it out, now is your chance. Here is what you do:
1. Come to Mambos this Friday night.
2. When you enter the door, tell the doorman that you are with "MIT
Salsa Club." You will not need to say your name; just say you are
with MIT Salsa Club.
3. The doorman will give you a membership form. Fill it out and give it
back to him.
4. The doorman will give you your Mambos Card immediately, a card
with a personal barcode that entitles you to enter the club every
Friday for only $10.
And that's it! You're a member of one of Boston's hottest new salsa clubs. This is something only being offered this Friday to all MIT Salsa Club students. You can bring as many friends as you wish and all of them will be entitled to free memberships as your friends.

This Friday, Mambos welcomes MIT Salsa Club! Two lessons on both floors. Read below for lesson information.
Mambos is also open this SATURDAY for a huge event. With 175 RSVPs and promotion all over the city, you can expect a very big night of dancing for a good cause! Scroll down the page for more information about this special event! NOTE: Doors open at 9pm this Saturday.
Lessons this FRIDAY:
FIRST FLOOR:
On the first floor, MIT Salsa will be teaching an intro to salsa AND club-style cha cha dancing this week. These lessons are always fun for beginners and you'll learn enough in one hour to keep you dancing all night long! No partner or experience necessary. **Please try to arrive early for the beginners lessons to guarantee yourself a good spot in the circle. The lessons are filling up in the first half hour.
SECOND FLOOR:
Mambos is pleased to have Boston Rueda in the house this Friday night! Jose and his fellow casineros will be teaching everyone Cuba's famous circle dance. We recommend having a little prior experience with basic salsa dancing, but no rueda experience is necessary. A fun group and always a fun lesson, join Jose and his crew as they introduce you to rueda this Friday!
All lessons begin at 9:30pm. Free with admission, no partner necessary.

SATURDAY EVENT DETAILS:
Join DRYVE (Dominican Republic Youth Volunteer Efforts) for one of our biggest fundraising events ever! For this event, we're taking over Mambos on Saturday, February 21st! Mambos has graciously partnered up with DRYVE to help generate funds and awareness for our relief efforts.
The night begins with complimentary beginner salsa lessons on both floors (9pm -10pm); so if you don't know how to dance, you'll learn! From 10pm to 1am, the club will be open to dancing on two floors. ALL AGES welcome!
Proceeds from this event will be taken directly to the Dominican Republic and put into use exactly one week later, Saturday, February 28th.

+Two beginner salsa lessons taught on each floor by BU Salsa Club (1st Floor) and MIT Salsa Club (2nd Floor).

5.) MIT Salsa Club's Mini Salsa Social, Saturday, February 28th!
That's right! It's salsa social time again. For this event, we are limiting the guests to MIT Salsa Club students and their friends. So if you are receiving this email, you are invited and can invite as many friends as you would like!
The social will be in La Sala in the Stratton Student Center.
Only $5 admission
$1 beverages
Beginner and Advanced Beginner Salsa Lessons, 8:30 - 9:30

6.) Private Lesson Information.
Private lessons are a fun and affordable way to learn salsa dancing quickly. The private lesson setting allows each dancer the opportunity to address his or her own needs directly to a teacher.
Private lessons are available for solo dancers, for couples and for groups up to 5--all for the same price.
Currently taught at MIT!
Lessons are currently available Mondays thru Thursdays. No Fridays. Lessons are available on Saturdays and Sundays for higher rates.

Weekdays: $40 per hour
Weekends: $60 per hour
