7.) Boston's 5th Annual Salsa Congress is this Weekend!
The 5th Annual Boston Salsa Congress is this coming weekend, April 3-5. The Salsa Congress is Greater Boston's largest salsa dancing event of the year. For 3 days, some of the best international and national performers, instructors, DJs and bands come to Boston to dance and perform at the annual congress.
If you've never been to a congress before, here is what you can expect:
a. On Saturday and Sunday, you can take one-hour lessons with some of the best instructor/performers in the world salsa circuit from 9am to 5pm. These lessons are available for all dancer-levels. See the lesson offerings and descriptions here: http://www.bostonsalsacongress.com/workshops.html
b. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, you get to watch performances from local, national and international performers.
The congress provides ample seating and a full bar to enjoy a drink while your watching the performances.
c. After the performers finish, the ballroom is cleared of all chairs and turned into one large dancehall. You get to dance until 3:30 in the morning, and if you're still not sweating tired, there are various afterparties to attend.
d. You'll be dancing the night away to live salsa groups like Wayne Gorbea y Su Orquesta, one of NYC's best salsa groups. During the band intermissions, you'll be dancing to some of the best DJs. The music is always the hottest at salsa congresses.
