(***PLEASE forward this message to anyone you know that
enjoys salsa dancing or that might join you at Mambos in
the future.)

It’s finally happening! Mambos, Boston’s new all-ages
salsa club, opens Friday, May 23rd! We invite you to our
grand opening celebration and to join us every week for
great music and dancing. If you’re planning on joining the
party, please read ALL of the details below. Mambos is a
private salsa club and there’s only one way to get in!

Mambos is a Private Salsa Club:
Mambos is a private salsa club, which means you need to
become a member to enter the club. For the first month of
operation (5/23 - 6/20), you will be granted FREE
memberships. After 6/20, all new members must pay a $5
membership fee (for the price of your Mambos Card).

Joining is easy. You just need to fill out a form with
your name and email address and bring it to the door.
Forms will be made available after the performances at this
year’s 3rd Annual MIT Salsa Social (click here for details:
http://web.mit.edu/salsaclub/www/upcomingpastevents.shtml).

Forms will also be available at the door each Friday for
the first month of operation.

In June, all members will receive two “Mambos Cards,” one
in the shape of a credit card, the other, smaller one, will
fit onto your keychain. You will scan this card every time
you visit the club, and once the computer confirms you are
a member, you will be allowed to enter. Admission is only
$10.

After June 20th, all new members and guests to the club
must be sponsored by existing members to enter the club.

The Venue:
Mambos is a two-floor salsa club. The space is equipped
with amazing lighting, a one-of-a-kind visual media system
and one of the best sound systems in the city. It’s
beautiful inside! The club is medium-sized and can fit over
200 people inside comfortably (and even more
uncomfortably).

For the first month, the second floor will be incomplete.
However, it will be open. We will be renting a portable
dance floor for the second floor and upgrading the décor
over the month. In June, the second floor will have a new
floor made of Brazilian cherry hardwood. We’ll also be
upgrading the seating and ambiance over the month.

Location:
Mambos address is 306 Stuart Street, Boston, MA 02116.
It’s only 2 blocks away from the Arlington T stop on the
Green Line. A few blocks away from the Back Bay T stop on
the Orange Line. There are numerous parking garages and
there is limited street-side parking. Click here for a
detailed walking/driving map:

Because Mambos is a private club, there is no sign hanging
outside that says “Mambos.” No
we’re not kidding.
Instead, look for a sign on the street that says
“Flash’s.” The door to Mambos is next to it. When you
arrive at 306 Stuart St. you will find a door with the name
“Mambos” on it. Open it and follow the music

The Music:
Think of Mambos as that secret “spot” where you’ll hear
amazing music every week. Our inspiration for opening the
club was for the love of the music.

Our DJs will be creative and daring. You may know some of
them. But you might not know them at Mambos. We want them
to open up to the crowd in ways they haven’t before. We
want them to express themselves and to play the music that
they feel passionately about. We want them to play tracks
that they’d play to a salsa dancing house party with their
closest, most intimate friends. In short, we want them to
play their best sets.

As an added bonus, on special nights we will be inviting
renowned DJs from out of town to bring their best to
Boston! On these nights, the cover charge will be raised
slightly to cover DJ traveling expenses. You will know a
week in advance of these special events. Please join
“Mambos Mail” to get weekly updates about our visiting DJs
and special events:

Dance Lessons at Mambos:
For the first month of operation, ONLY beginner lessons
will be taught at Mambos on the first floor. Our beginner
lessons are extremely fun and personable. No partner will
be necessary.

Beginning in June, Mambos will offer advanced beginner
lessons on the second floor and they will be taught by some
of the area’s best dance companies. In an effort to
support and promote Boston’s vibrant salsa community,
Mambos will host different dance instructors every week.
That means you’ll get to learn new moves and styles by a
range of talented dancers throughout the city! Our
instructor schedule will be posted at
http://www.mambosentertainment.com/salsafridays.html. As
an added bonus, the lessons will be restricted in size so
that each student has the opportunity to learn without
being lost in the crowd.

(Lessons are first come, first serve. Get in the door
early.)

Hours of Operation:
Lessons 9:30pm - 10:30pm
Dancing 10:30pm - 2am

The doors finally open Friday, May 23rd!

See you at the party,
