3. MIT Salsa Club's Worshop Series Begins Monday, January 5th!
Here are details for this year's workshops:
* All lessons will be held in Morss Hall, Walker Memorial Building, 7pm - 8:30pm.
* Monday, January 5: MIT Salsa Club's Merengue Challenge!
Join Chris and Stephanie as they take merengue and mix in some MIT-style engineering. They'll start with the basics and then they'll take you on a journey where you'll discover how far you can contort your bodies and stretch your minds. In other words: You'll all look like pretzels by the end of the lesson.
* Monday, January 12: Introduction to Club-Style Cha Cha!
You'll learn the basics of dancing cha cha On2 (on the second beat). After an hour and a half, dancers will have enough of the basics down to effortlessly enjoy cha cha dancing, club-style.
*Tuesday, January 13: Advanced Beginner Club-Style Cha Cha!
All dancers should be very familiar with the basics of cha cha dancing and be dancing salsa at the advanced beginner level. Students will learn a cool combination or two in an hour and a half's time.
*Monday, January 19: Introduction to Bachata Dancing!
Make sure to wear deodorant and chew those breath mints, you're all gonna get close. MITSC will be teaching you the basics of bachata dancing, including timing, the basic steps, and basic turns.
*Tuesday, January 20: Advanced Beginner Bachata Dancing!
All dancers should have a firm grasp of the basics of bachata dancing. MITSC will lead you through a smooth combination, without sacrificing the sensuality of the dance to too much technical maneuvering.
REGULAR SALSA LESSONS resume Monday, January 26!
