This Friday's Lessons at Mambos:
This is your last Friday of the year to dance at Mambos! That's right; Mambos will be closed Friday December, 26th for the holidays. This Friday, Mambos is having a special night of lessons and dancing, with bachata lessons taught by Rumba y Timbal (9:30-10:30) and a new set by DJ el Turco.
This Week:
On the first floor, MIT Salsa will be teaching an intro to salsa AND merengue dancing this week. These lessons are always fun for beginners and you'll learn enough in one hour to keep you dancing all night long! No partner or experience necessary. **Please try to arrive early for the beginners lessons to guarantee yourself a good spot in the circle. The lessons are filling up in the first half hour.
Lesson is FREE with admission.
1st floor, 9:30 to 10:30.
On the second floor, Mambos is pleased to offer a special lesson this Friday to celebrate the end of the year...a couple of weeks early! Rumba y Timbal Dance Co. will be in the house teaching advanced beginner bachata dancing for Mambos' last lesson of the year. RyT Director Roberto Figueroa will be sharing some of his slick bachata skills with Mambos lesson-takers on Mambos' second floor. Students should have some general familiarity with bachata.
MAMBOS will be closed December 26th for the holidays.

3. MIT Salsa Club's Worshop Series Begins Monday, January 5th!
Regular salsa lessons are over. But we'll be back January 5th to begin MIT Salsa's Workshop Series! In the meantime, join MIT Salsa at Mambos for weekly lessons on Friday nights.
Here are details for this year's workshops:
* All lessons will be held in Morss Hall, Walker Memorial Building, 7pm - 8:30pm.
* Monday, January 5: MIT Salsa Club's Merengue Challenge!
Join Chris and Stephanie as they take merengue and mix in some MIT-style engineering. They'll start with the basics and then they'll take you on a journey where you'll discover how far you can contort your bodies and stretch your minds. In other words: You'll all look like pretzels by the end of the lesson.
* Monday, January 12: Introduction to Club-Style Cha Cha!
You'll learn the basics of dancing cha cha On2 (on the second beat). After an hour and a half, dancers will have enough of the basics down to effortlessly enjoy cha cha dancing, club-style.
*Tuesday, January 13: Advanced Beginner Club-Style Cha Cha!
All dancers should be very familiar with the basics of cha cha dancing and be dancing salsa at the advanced beginner level. Students will learn a cool combination or two in an hour and a half's time.
*Monday, January 19: Introduction to Bachata Dancing!
Make sure to wear deodorant and chew those breath mints, you're all gonna get close. MITSC will be teaching you the basics of bachata dancing, including timing, the basic steps, and basic turns.
*Tuesday, January 20: Advanced Beginner Bachata Dancing!
All dancers should have a firm grasp of the basics of bachata dancing. MITSC will lead you through a smooth combination, without sacrificing the sensuality of the dance to too much technical maneuvering.
REGULAR SALSA LESSONS resume Monday, January 26!
