-*-* MIT Salsa Club's Weekly Update *-*-
1. It's Getting Closer and Closer...
You can feel it in the air; you can see the shadows growing longer on the streets. You can sense the impending gridlock of hundreds of thousands of students returning to Boston, September 1st. The fall is coming. And so is the fall lesson term! Only a few more weeks, and then MIT Salsa will begin its 3-month-long lesson term! New moves, new students, and tons of events are in store this season!

In the meantime, MIT salseros are needed in many ways! Read the following updates (especially #3)...
2. Mambos Update! One of the Best Salsa Instructors on the Weekly Rotation is in the House this Friday!

and the "Song of the the Week": http://www.ymlp.com/msg.php?id=anrcpkxpqoc
If you missed the HOT dance showcases from Atlanta, GA and Mexico last Friday, you can watch them! Click the Mambos Mail link above and see the YouTube videos.
Noche Latina Dance Company will be in the house teaching this Friday's advanced beginner lesson on the 2nd floor. Fun and friendly, Hedwige brings the NLDC crew back for a repeat performance. Surely one of the best lessons in the Mambos instructor rotation.
Mambos gives you a unique opportunity to sample different dance styles by inviting different instructors representing Greater New England to teach every week.
9:30 - 10:30, second floor.
Always free with admission!
MIT Salsa will be teaching beginners the basic steps and a new beginner move this week. If you're an MIT Salsa Clubber, come out and hop in the lesson circle. The more MITSC's we see, the more likely we're to teach a cool move. No experience or partner necessary, 9:30 - 10:30.
* Fun salsa lessons for beginners (first floor) and
advanced beginners (second floor).
* All Ages!
* DJ el Turco
* $10 for members, $15 for guests

3.) CALLING ALL MIT SALSA CLUBBERS
Mambos wants you...to teach!
MIT salsa will be taking over Mambos in the next two weeks, with a special event planned next Friday with MIT Salsa on both floors. We need support from MIT Salsa Clubbers this week AND next week. And here's how:
A.) If you feel fairly comfortable with the basics, come out this Friday and dance with new salsa dancers during and after the beginner lesson. Mambos has been attracting tons of new dancers and students. Right now, we need MORE MEN! There are ladies without partners. So guys, make your presence and help these new dancers by hopping in the circle. MIT Salsa ladies, we need you, too! Come out and join the circle this Friday and welcome new dancers to the community!
B.) Next Friday (8/29), MIT Salsa Club is taking over both floors of lessons, 9:30-10:30. On Mambos 2nd floor, Chris will be teaching a cool new move called the "Atomic Bomb" (developed in a secret underground laboratory beneath MIT's campus). ***Please wear lead clothing to shield yourself from radiatio.
On the FIRST floor, Mambos is looking for 6 volunteers to help group-teach a fun beginner's lesson. Mambos needs 3 girls and 3 guys that want to share their love of salsa with beginner dancers. You don't need any experience teaching. None. You'll just walk around the circle and help new dancers get the basic steps. And that's it. Someone will be leading the lesson while you and others walk around and help. It's a lot of fun and students really appreciate your help. Email Chris at vegas76 at yahoo.com and tell him you're in! You'll be put on the Mambos' guest list.
5.) Private Lesson Information.
Private lessons are a fun and affordable way to learn salsa dancing quickly. The private lesson setting allows each dancer the opportunity to address his or her own needs directly to a teacher.
Private lessons are available for solo dancers, for couples and for groups up to 5--all for the same price.
Currently taught at MIT!
Lessons are currently available Mondays thru Thursdays. No Fridays. Lessons are available on Saturdays and Sundays for higher rates.
New Rates:
Weekdays: $40 per hour
Weekends: $60 per hour
Email Chris at vegas76 at yahoo.com for more details!
