2.) $200 for Pointing Your Finger!
Some of you may have heard gossip that Chris is opening a
salsa club in the city of Cambridge. Well, the rumors are
true. In fact, his club, "Mambos", was scheduled to open in
two weeks.
Unfortunately, those plans have recently changed. The
building owners Chris was to rent from have backed out of
the deal last-minute.
:(
Chris is now looking for a new space to hold a weekly
event. He's been looking into buildings along the Red Line
transit, from Kendall to Central to Harvard Square
Stations, along Massachusetts Avenue and within walking
distance of the T. If he finds a new place, he's going to
open a special salsa night on either Friday or Saturday
nights--an all-ages event for all 450+ MIT Salsa Clubbers
and friends to dance the night away every week!
Here's the deal:
Since Cambridge is a big place, Chris needs your help
finding a new location. If you know of a space in Cambridge
that could become a great place for salsa dancing, email
Chris at vegas76 at yahoo.com. If he opens a night of dancing
at the place you suggest, he will hand you $200 just for
pointing at the place! He will also give you and 1 friend
FREE ADMISSION to the club for life!
So if you stroll by a building that you think might be a
great place for us to dance, email Chris at
vegas76 at yahoo.com. The place can be a Church, a community
center--or any place that might potentially house a great
night of dancing!
3.) Chris is Teaching at Havana Club this Saturday,
October 6.
Chris is teaching the Advanced Beginner Lesson at the new
Havana Club this coming Saturday, October 6.
The event is all-ages. So come out, learn a new move and
dance!

the new event on Saturdays:

5.) MIT Salsa Club Dance Partners Network.
Many of you have been asking, "How do we remember these
moves after we learn them?" or, "What's a good way to
practice what we learn in class so that we can get better."
The best way to learn and to improve your dancing is by
consistently practicing either with a partner or a small
group, once or twice a week.
Many of you have asked, "How do we partner up, then?"
Check the facebook group and you'll see a new discussion
board called "MIT Salsa Partners." Click the topic and
write the following information about yourself:
A)Your level of dancing
B)Whether you're looking for one parter, a group setting
or both
C)The best way to contact you (preferably an email address)
Once you've entered your information, you can contact
people that have similar interests to set up practice
times, locations and even nights out at clubs.
6.) Register with Facebook.

lesson activities, such as voting for lessons, meeting
