2.) UPDATE on the Club Hunt...
Chris has been negotiating with venue owners all over
Boston and Cambridge for the past 2 weeks.
He is still taking suggestions for a space on either side
of the river. Email him at vegas76 at yahoo.com if you know a
place that would be suitable for a weekly night of salsa
dancing.
If you can suggest a place, and he decides to host the
event there weekly, Chris is offering a $200 reward for
simply pointing him in the right direction. In addition,
you and 1 friend will be granted free admission to the club
every night. AND, as an added bonus: one 1-hour private
lesson for you and up to 20 friends.
So, if you can think of a place in Boston or Cambridge that
might make for a great night of salsa dancing, email Chris
at vegas76 at yahoo.com.
3.) MIT Salsa Club Dance Partners Network.
Many of you have been asking, "How do we remember these
moves after we learn them?" or, "What's a good way to
practice what we learn in class so that we can get better."
The best way to learn and to improve your dancing is by
consistently practicing either with a partner or a small
group, once or twice a week.
Many of you have asked, "How do we partner up, then?"
Check the Facebook group and you'll see a new discussion
board called "MIT Salsa Partners." Click the topic and
write the following information about yourself:
A)Your level of dancing
B)Whether you're looking for one partner, a group setting
or both
C)The best way to contact you (preferably an email address)
Once you've entered your information, you can contact
people that have similar interests to set up practice
times, locations and even nights out at clubs.
5.) Register with Facebook.
PLEASE register!
Our Facebook club allows you to participate in many of our
lesson activities, such as voting for lessons, meeting
dance partners, discussing events, etc.
Even if you don't want to create a profile with a picture
or tell the world anything about yourself, create an
account and join our Facebook club; you'll still be able to
participate in all of the club's online activities.
Follow this link:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2209203537
If you are already registered with Facebook, then log in
and click the "Groups" link in the left side of your
browser. Then type "MIT Salsa Club" into the search box
and click "Join" when you are on our club page. You'll be
added to the club.
If you are not registered with Facebook, it will take you
less then 5 minutes to set up an account. And it's free!
Just follow the link above, click "Register" and follow the
instructions listed above.
