2.) UPDATE on the Club Hunt: $200--and MORE--for Pointing
Your Finger in BOSTON!
Hi everyone. Chris here. I'd like to personally thank all
of the people that have emailed me over the week to either
suggest a place to open a club or to show your support. It
really means a lot to me.
I've been in contact all week with many representatives
from the venues you've suggested. So far, there are a few
places that may work out.
However, after thinking about this some more, I realized
there might be more options on the other side of the river,
in Boston. SO...I'm asking all of you to suggest a place
on the Boston side that might be suitable for a weekly
salsa event. Are there any spaces in Boston that you can
suggest?
If you can suggest a place, and I decide to host the event
there weekly, I am offering a $200 reward for simply
pointing me in the right direction. In addition, you and 1
friend will be granted free admission to the club every
night. AND, as an added bonus: one 1-hour private lesson
for you and up to 20 of your friends.
So, if you can think of a place in Boston or Cambridge that
might make for a great night of salsa dancing, email me at
vegas76 at yahoo.com.
Thanks again, everyone, for being so supportive! We are
V E R Y close to having our own night on the town!
3.) MIT Salsa Club Dance Partners Network.
Many of you have been asking, "How do we remember these
moves after we learn them?" or, "What's a good way to
practice what we learn in class so that we can get better."
The best way to learn and to improve your dancing is by
consistently practicing either with a partner or a small
group, once or twice a week.
Many of you have asked, "How do we partner up, then?"
Check the facebook group and you'll see a new discussion
board called "MIT Salsa Partners." Click the topic and
write the following information about yourself:
A)Your level of dancing
B)Whether you're looking for one partner, a group setting
or both
C)The best way to contact you (preferably an email address)
Once you've entered your information, you can contact
people that have similar interests to set up practice
times, locations and even nights out at clubs.
5.) Register with Facebook.
PLEASE register!
Our Facebook club allows you to participate in many of our
lesson activities, such as voting for lessons, meeting
dance partners, discussing events, etc.
Even if you don't want to create a profile with a picture
or tell the world anything about yourself, create an
account and join our Facebook club; you'll still be able to
participate in all of the club's online activities.
Follow this link:
