1.) 2nd Annual MIT Salsa Social!

It's less than a week away!  Are you ready???  We are!

Once a year, MIT Salsa Club invites Greater Boston to a
night of heavy social dancing. This year's event will be
even heavier, with DJ Martinez spinning all night long and
a performance by one of the area's best dance companies! 

Saturday May 19, 2007 

Free Beginner & Advanced Beg. Lessons at 8:30 PM 
No partner necessary 

Social Dancing 9:30pm - 1:00am - Music by DJ D.Martinez 

$5.00pp General Admission 
$3.00pp for MIT Students with ID 

All Ages

In MIT's Sala de Puerto Rico Room 
2nd floor, Stratton Student Center 
84 Mass. Ave Cambridge, Ma. 

2.) This year's salsa social volunteers.

All volunteers at this year's event will receive a private
email tomorrow at 1 pm. Follow the link in the email to
sign-up for your time and duty.  Other instructions will be
included in tomorrow's email.
   
3.) Since we can't reach everyone...

If you're a student at a school other than MIT, please
forward info about the social to your friends! 

Or, even better, post the event to your college or
university's online events board.

4.) Special advanced beginner lesson this week!

Have you ever wanted to learn how to dance on 2?  Did you
even know that you could break on a beat other than the
first one?  Have you ever been refused a dance or lost a
dance to someone because of a break beat difference?   Are
you an on1 dancer that hates New York because the dance
scene there is huge but predominately on2?

Well, don't hate.  Relate.  

Tomorrow's Advanced Beginner lesson will introduce students
to dancing on2.  You'll first learn how to hear the beat,
then you'll learn an easy combination on1 that will later
be translated to on2 timing.  This is also a perfect time
to learn on2 since a few New Yorkers and Jerseyites will be
on the floor at this year's 2nd Annual Salsa Social.  You
can showoff you're bilingual dancing abilities!     

5.) This week's free salsa lessons.

Tomorrow's (Monday) Special Advanced Beginner Lesson is in
Morss Hall at 7 PM.  

Tuesday's Beginner Lesson is also in Morss Hall this week
and it also begins at 7 PM.
