1) All lessons are on for this week!

2) Larry Harlow Concert, December 23!

If you've visited the MIT Salsa Club website lately, you
might have noticed a suspicious link for "Larry Harlow"
posted underneath the Salsa Club banner.  Yes.  It's true! 
Larry Harlow, of Fania All Stars fame, IS coming to Boston
this month, Saturday, December 23.  

For those of you who know Harlow's music, you won't need
any more motivation to buy tickets to the concert.  This
will be a big event for the Boston salsa community and
you'll want to be there to dance and to appreciate Harlow's
music.

For those of you less familiar with Larry Harlow, this is
your chance to experience a living salsa legend!  Harlow
was partly responsible for bringing salsa music to larger
audiences and for innovating the "salsa brava" sound in the
late 60s and 70s.  His contributions to the world salsa
community are without parralels!  And you can bet that some
of his songs have put blisters on your feet in the
past--and you might not have even known they were his songs
you were dancing to!

Don't come to the concert expecting to see some dusty, old
salsa grandfather.  Harlow's energy will sweep you out of
your seat and have you sweating on the dance floor all
night long!           

As an added benefit, MIT Salsa Club has been given a BIG
DISCOUNT.  Regular tickets at the door will cost $35.  But
MIT Salsa Club members are being given $15 discounts!  Yep!
 The ticket price for us is $20!  But you can only get the
discount one way. If you're going to attend the concert,
send an email to Hernan at hernan at bostonsalsero.com telling
him that you are a member of MIT Salsa Club and that you
want to purchase the discounted ticket.  He'll reply back
with a special link for you to purchase your ticket online.

Advanced beginner dancers should have a firm grasp for the
basics of salsa dancing, such as timing, balance and
posture, the cross body lead and basic turns. 

Intermediate level dancers should feel comfortable with
many different turn patterns, inside and outside turns and
the fundamentals of leading and following.
