Hello again.

Thanks to Rajiv Aaron Manglani et al who reminded me that the new 
Mailman web interface provided by MIT is actually nice & workable... 
tried to get listserve @ MIT's servers working for this very purpose 
last year and went away with my head hanging in shame :)

rooftops at media.mit.edu will be shut down. ROOFTOPS at MIT.EDU will 
become the new list. Postings will be restricted to subscribers - 
this should help a lot with the spam problems we've been suffering 
through. rooftops.media web page will be updated with the true state 
of the world shortly...

Users can subscribe and unsubscribe without having to ask someone to 
make the change for them...
and so on, you know what Mailman can do...

New posts will be archived by Mailman. I'm working on options to get 
the OLD archive into the same place as the new archives that will be 
generated from today forward. open to suggestions. I really don't 
want to bug the Mailman admins at mit with this...
