[Reporting-announce] Tableau Server Upgrade on June 12th

Hello All,
We successfully completed the Tableau upgrade to version 2025.1.12 last evening. During testing, we identified compatibility issues with content using Tableau's legacy extract format (.tde). Tableau transitioned to the .hyper format in version Tableau Desktop 10.5 (2018), and extracts created in that version or later are unaffected.
Content utilizing .tde extracts must be converted to .hyper format for continued functionality. Detailed conversion instructions are available in the Tableau documentation<https://help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/extracting_upgrade.htm>. For assistance with this process, please contact tableau-help at mit.edu<mailto:tableau-help at mit.edu>.
When affected jobs encounter this error, automated notifications will be sent to content owners. Given the age of the .tde format, we anticipate minimal impact. Our review of today's job runs has not identified any occurrences of this issue. We will continue monitoring job performance and will proactively notify users should any errors arise.

Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) will be upgrading MIT’s Tableau Server to version 2025.1 on Friday, June 12th. The upgrade window will be from 8pm to 10pm. During this time, you will not have access to workbooks on tableau.mit.edu<https://tableau.mit.edu/>. If you need access to your workbooks during this time, download them for local use prior to the upgrade window.
