[mosh-devel] is there clear way to tell a mobile user is on mosh vs ssh?

Hello!

Thank you for bringing mosh to the world!

I have noticed that quite a few people ask about further elaboration on how to tell when they are truly connected over mosh vs ssh.
I can see the statement “...via mosh" when I do a simple who, but I must admit, Id much rather see a built-in mosh command that shows this.
I am certain that this issue persists because of the impossible nature of entering a true escape character in a iOS app.
None of the documentation works for people using popular apps on an iPad. I use termius.
Is there a command for verification?

Thank you!
Carey

Ending the connection
Normally, logout or exit on the remote host will close the session. Mosh accepts the escape sequence Ctrl-^ . (typically typed with Control-Shift-6, then a period) to end the connection forcibly. To send a literal Ctrl-^, type Ctrl-^ ^.

Q: How do I tell if mosh is working correctly?
After you run mosh user at server, if successful you will be dropped into your login shell on the remote machine. If you want to check that mosh is being used instead of ssh, try typing Ctrl-^ Ctrl-Z to suspend the session (with mosh 1.2.4 or later on the client). Running fg will then return.
