[Mobilepartners] iOS 8 Announcement

Good Afternoon,

IS&T is pleased to announce support for iOS 8, available from Apple as a free update on a selection of iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models. Information regarding changes and new features can be found on Apple's iOS 8 page<http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/>.

iOS 8 is only compatible with the following devices:
- iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus.
- 5th-generation iPod Touch.
- iPad mini, iPad (3rd and 4th-generation), iPad Air.

This update includes numerous security upgrades, bug fixes, and functionality improvements. IS&T strongly recommends updating compatible devices to the latest version of iOS.

To update your compatible iOS device, go to Settings, select General, and then select Software Update. Please note that this update is fairly large and requires between 5-6GB of available space on the device to download and install. If you do not have enough available space, IS&T recommends updating via iTunes. For a step-by-step guide on how to update, follow Updating to iOS 8<http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/x/EAUrCQ>.

IMPORTANT: iOS 8 includes an update to iCloud Drive. This service will allow users to access documents stored in iCloud once Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite is released in October. After installing the iOS update, you will be asked if you would like to update to iCloud Drive. At this time, we recommend users NOT upgrade to iCloud Drive. Upgrading will disable the syncing of all files on your Mac and iOS Devices stored in iCloud!
