Good afternoon everyone,

Apple has just released iOS 5.0.1, which promises to resolve battery life issues introduced with iOS 5. The new release also brings several other enhancements and bug fixes, detailed below:

- Fixes bugs affecting battery life
- Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
- Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
- Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

iOS 5.0.1 is available for the iPhone 4S, 4, and 3GS, the iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), and all iPad models. The update is available for download now via iTunes, and should also be available over the air soon (by going to Settings > General > Software Update). Prior to performing this update, we recommend that you sync your iOS device with your Mac or PC in order to backup your device.

Thanks, and if you have any questions about this update, please contact the Mobile Devices Team at mobile-help at mit.edu<mailto:mobile-help at mit.edu>,
~ Justin
