[Mobilepartners] Free Calls & Text to Japan via Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless

Hello All,

In light of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, both Verizon and AT&T have opened up free calling and text messaging to Japan from the United States.

Verizon Wireless Customers:<http://news.vzw.com/news/2011/03/pr2011-03-14d.html>
- Effective: March 11th through April 10th, 2011.
- Applies to post-paid customers (customers who receive a monthly bill) calling from the United States.
- Verizon Prepaid Phone Card charges for all long-distance calls placed to Japan from the United States will also be waived from March 11th until April 10th.
- Free SMS Text and MMS / Multimedia Message to Japan during this period
- Calls made from Verizon Residential Lines will be rated at $0.00 per minute during this period as well.
- Donations via Text:<http://news.vzw.com/news/2011/03/pr2011-03-13.html> Verizon Wireless customers can text "redcross" to 90999 to give a $10 donation to help the Red Cross with disaster support efforts in the area. No text message fees apply.

AT&T Wireless Customers:<http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=19324&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=31687&mapcode=wireless-networks-general%7Cconsumer>
- Effective: March 11th through March 31st, 2011.
- Customers will not be charged for International long distance usage from the United States and Puerto Rico to Japan.
- Customers will not be charged text messages to Japan, originating from a U.S. wireless number.
- AT&T Residential Wireline customers can seek credits up to 60 minutes of direct dial calling to Japan. Upon receiving their wireline bill, customers may call AT&T to receive adjusted calling for up to 60 minutes. In other words, no charges for up to 60 minutes of call time from the United States to Japan between March 11 and March 31.
- Donations via Text:<http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=19324&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=31687&mapcode=wireless-networks-general%7Cconsumer> AT&T wireless customers can text "redcross" to 90999 to give a $10 donation to help the Red Cross with disaster support efforts in the area.
