Information Services and Technology (IS&T) is pleased to announce the availability of MIT Mobile for Android 1.0 on the Android Marketplace. 

To download the app, Android users can go to market://search?q=pname:edu.mit.mitmobile or search for "mit mobile" on the Android Marketplace.

MIT Mobile for Android includes all of the features and functionality of its iPhone counterpart, enabling Android users to:

* Browse articles from the MIT News Office
* Browse and search the Events and Academic calendars
* View the live locations of the Tech Shuttle and other shuttles, and to schedule stop arrival alerts
* Browse and search a multi-touch Campus Map
* View Stellar courses and receive notifications of new announcements
* Search the MIT People Directory
* Receive notifications of campus emergencies
* Browse contact information for MIT's emergency services

MIT Mobile for Android 1.0 requires Android OS 2.1 or later. 2.2 or later is recommended for full map functionality. For more information, please visit http://m.mit.edu/about/androidapp.html.

For users with neither an iPhone or Android device running 2.1 or later, much of the same functionality is available on the web at http://m.mit.edu/.
