[Mobilepartners] TechTime DST Potential Issue for Mobile Devices

Hello,

IS&T received reports from two mobile device users this morning that their 
TechTime calendars had been affected by the DST (Daylight Saving Time) 
change that occurred yesterday after they synchronized their calendars using 
SyncML.

One user reported that calendar events created before last week were shifted 
by one hour, but the events created since last week were not affected. 
Another user was seeing calendar events being duplicated with off-set by two 
or three hours for those events that were created by someone else.

Other users have reported that they did not notice any problems.

We have not been able to determine the exact cause and fix to this potential 
DST-related issue, but we will continue to look into this issue and keep you 
posted.

In the meanwhile, if you are synchronizing TechTime calendar to your mobile 
device, please be advised that the synchronization process may a) shift some 
calendar events and b) duplicate some other calendar events.

If you are experiencing the above problem, please email mobile-help at mit.edu.
Please include the following information:
1. Device Model (e.g. Palm Treo 700p, AT&T 8525, etc.)
2. Description of the problem (please specify whether the affected calendar 
events were created by the user or someone else via calendar invite).

For now, the fix to the problem is to modify the affected calendar entries 
using TechTime desktop client (or web client at http://calendar.mit.edu) and 
then performing "reload device" synchronization with TechTime from the 
device.
