Greetings!

We had a meeting with Palm, Inc. last week about their plans for the future
.

Here are some information that you might find interesting:

Overview:
Palm, Inc. will continue to invest into Windows Mobile devices. No further
update on Palm OS will be forthcoming. Palm is working on its own
Linux-based OS to replace Palm OS under the new management.

Details:
1. Windows Mobile 6 Update for Palm Treo 750 on AT&T/Cingular
There will be free upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 for Treo 750 devices. This
upgrade is expected to be within November. Among other things, the upgrade
will provide
- HSDPA connectivity (to connect to the faster version of AT&T's 3G network)
- Easier personal certificate importing
- Email: HTML support, hardware shortcuts, smart filtering (search)
- Calendar: Usability improvements
- Others: improved Internet Explorer, Internet Sharing, etc.

2. Palm Treo 755p on Verizon Wireless
Verizon is expected to release Treo 700p (Palm OS) in November/December
time-frame. The device
does not offer any significant improvement over Treo 700p. The changes are
mostly cosmetic (e.g. elimination of external antenna, ruberized coating for
better grip, slightly thinner profile).

3. Palm Treo 500v (Windows Mobile 6 Standard) and Treo 800 (Windows Mobile 6
Professional)
We cannot disclose details, but the specs that we saw looked very promising
for the new devices that will be showing up in 2008. They will finally have
a smartphone device with Wi-Fi.

4. PDA's
Palm will contiue to sell non-smartphone PDA's (e.g. T|X) until the end of
2008, but they will not be making any improvements.

Andrew
