Greetings!
As some of you may be aware, Google today officially announced their entry
into the wireless world.
Google is not going to be manufacturing phones (like Apple), but they will
be working with a newly formed group called "Open Handset Alliance" to
provide the devices and services. The 34-member Open Handset Alliance
consists of leading companies in the mobile business worldwide and includes
HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sprint, T-Mobile, NTT Docomo, China Mobile,
Intel, Qualcomm, etc.
Although the first "Google phone" is not expected until latter part of 2008,
it is expected to bring another major change in the mobile industry.
If you are interested, there is a New York Times article that provides a
good overview:

Cheers,
Andrew
