Hello Friends of MIT World,
Go to http://mitworld.mit.edu for the newest videos.
The MIT Museum's
Family Adventures in Science and Technology Program (FAST) presents
MIT Physics Professor
Walter Lewin
"The Sounds of Music"
In this laboratory-based interactive presentation, Walter Lewin, with
the help of many young musicians, demonstrates the physics of sound,
and shows us vivid examples of happy harmonics as well as destructive
resonances.
This is Lewin's 4th lecture on MIT World. To see the others, use the
Video Finder, and type "Lewin" in the search box.

The Center for International Studies
Starr Forum presents
"National Security and Civil Liberties"
A Panel Discussion featuring
Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA) and Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA)
This is the 8th event from the Center for International Studies on
MIT World. To view the others, choose "Center from International
Studies" from the "host" section of the video finder.
With this update, MIT World takes a brief hiatus until the new year.
We'll be back in early January with a wide range of topics including
weapons of mass destruction, the Columbia space shuttle disaster, and
authors William J. Mitchell and Russell Banks.
We welcome the newest folks to our mailing list and wish you all a
peaceful new year.
