[mitgis] GIS & Data Lab - Summer Computer Refresh

Hi GIS & Data Lab folks!

As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, the computers in the GIS & Data Lab will be undergoing a full refresh. This process will wipe all local data stored on the machines, so please make sure to back up any files, projects, or datasets you wish to keep before the refresh takes place.

Here are a few easy ways to save your work:

  *   Save to MIT cloud storage (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive)
  *   Transfer files to a personal USB drive or external hard drive
  *   Push your code or projects to GitHub

Any data left on the lab computers will not be recoverable after the refresh is complete. If you have any questions about where or how to save your files, please reach out to the GIS & Data Lab Help Request Form<https://libguides.mit.edu/gis>.
