Hi,

GIS Services has a new workshop coming up as part of the libraries IAPril workshop series<http://libraries.mit.edu/news/check-complete-listing-9/14065/>.

* Learn how to collect and create your own GIS data. If it's nice, we'll go outside and try out the GPS units too! Learn more and sign up here<http://libcal.mit.edu/event.php?id=608982>.

We have also loaded several new data layers into GeoWeb (MIT Only):

* Ward and Village census data from Jamnagar and Junagadh, India<http://goo.gl/PK59Nk>

* Building footprints and heights for parts of Brooklyn<http://goo.gl/tv2sUS> affected by Hurricane Sandy

* Boston parcel data from 2013<http://goo.gl/At8QHR>
NOTE: There is only 1 record listed per parcel. To see the complete data (i.e. multiple condos on the same parcel), use our DVD in the GIS lab (call # G3764.B6 2013.P76)

* Historic aerial photographs for Philadelphia<http://goo.gl/UBqvDV> from 1971-2008
NOTE: To download this data, use the MIT Geodata Repository Search Tool for ArcGIS 10.1 (it works with 10.2 as well). Download it from the same IS&T page<http://ist.mit.edu/arcgis/10/win> from which you can download ArcGIS.

We have resumed regular, Spring semester hours, so stop by the GIS lab Mon-Thurs 1pm-5pm and Fri 2pm-4pm for help.

Cheers,

Jennie
