Welcome back!

GIS Services had a busy summer. Here are some of the highlights:

- Fall assistance hours in the GIS lab begin on September 5th. A GIS specialist will be in the lab to answer your questions Monday-Thursday 1-5pm and Friday 1-4pm. The lab is located on the 3rd floor of Rotch Library (7-238).

- We updated our web site to a new format so that it is easier to find information. Our old address will be re-directed to the new web site or you can access it here: http://libguides.mit.edu/gis

It is also linked from the Libraries' Research Guides web site: http://libraries.mit.edu/multi/research-guides.html

- Alex Oberg joined the GIS team in August. He will be providing assistance in the GIS lab every afternoon, so stop by and say hi.

- ArcGIS 10.1 was released this summer. You can download this version of ArcGIS from IS&T: http://ist.mit.edu/arcgis/10/win

- We replaced the GIS lab computers with new, fast machines. They all include ArcGIS 10.1 and Google Earth Pro. Stop by to try them out!

If you have any questions, email us at gishelp at mit.edu<mailto:gishelp at mit.edu>.

Cheers,

The GIS Team
