Message-ID: <031401c6714b$a268f070$48055f12@blacktuxedo> What's a Devotional? A devotional is an open forum, where people share quotes that are meaningful to them. Think of it as a poetry reading - but where the material also includes quotes from the world's religions and inspirational leaders. It's a session where it is equally appropriate to quote Ghandi as it is to quote Einstein or the poet T.S. Eliot! In short, it's about whatever is moving to you. This week theme is "The Search for the Creator" but feel free to bring any quotes, or short musical pieces that are meaningful to you - even if they are off topic. The point is not to be focused on a topic but to give us a dose of spirituality after a long week! You are encouraged and welcome to bring your own quotes you'd like to share. But you don't have to bring anything because we'll be providing plenty of quotes from the world's religions, poets, and thought leaders. During the first 10 minutes we'll spread out numerous quotes on a table. Find those that are meaningful to you - and if you feel so moved, share it with others during the reading phase! Baha'is believe in one God, the oneness of religion, and in the unity of mankind. Everyone is welcome. We'll have appetizers, desserts and joy in readiness. Here are the details: This Friday, May 12 at 8p.m. Quincy House at Harvard 58 Plympton St. Apartment #600 When you arrive enter the courtyard and go through double glass doors directly in front of the building, take the elevator to the 6th floor, go left to the end of the hall, and you'll see our apartment. If you're lost call 617-913-2879. Please write or call with any questions. O Children of Men! Know ye not why We created you all from the same dust? That no one should exalt himself over the other. Ponder at all times in your hearts how ye were created. Since We have created you all from one same substance it is incumbent on you to be even as one soul, to walk with the same feet, eat with the same mouth and dwell in the same land, that from your inmost being, by your deeds and actions, the signs of oneness and the essence of detachment may be made manifest. Such is My counsel to you, O concourse of light! Heed ye this counsel that ye may obtain the fruit of holiness from the tree of wondrous glory. ~Baha'u'llah -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It will be motivated by passages from the Baha'i Faith and other religions. Everybody generally walks away with a new perspective, and it's interesting to hear from Boston area college students. I plan to walk from Sidney Pacific at 7:00 pm to arrive by 7:30. Please let me know if you'd like to come. Regards, David What a power is love!
