* The Peace Walk weekly action held in Harvard Yard to protest the ongoing
war in Iraq. The Walk, initiated by a group called the Harvard-Cambridge
Walk for Peace, occurs each Wednesday at NOON (starting several years ago.)
This semester, various Harvard student groups will be sponsoring the weekly
walk. Consider the action as way to express solidarity with the anti-war
movement and as a space for reflection.*
* This Week, the Peace Walk is being sponsored by:*
* the Harvard Anti-War Coalition (HAWC)*
* *
* HAWC meets next this Friday at 4pm in PBH. For more information email
harvardawc at lists.riseup.net.*
* If a group you are involved might be interested in sponsoring a week, send
an email to this list.*
THIS SEMESTER:
*The war in Iraq continues---with terrible human costs. This March will mark
the 5th anniversary of the US invasion and occupation of Iraq---a half of
decade of war---many of us were in high school when this began and now many
of us are about to graduate from college. The majority of Americans now
believe the war to have been a mistake and the vast majority of Iraqis call
upon the US and allies for immediate withdrawal.*
*NOW is the time to act--consolidate our gains, expand the movement, and
escalate our future actions.*
