On December 2, 1984, over 35 tons of toxic gases leaked from a pesticide
plant owned by Union Carbide in Bhopal, India. 8,000 people died within the fi
rst week. Twenty years later, over 20,000 have died and tens of thousands more
have been affected by one of the world's worst industrial disasters.
