Postdoc Live Music Event - Bring your partner or friend!

[Jacob Hoffman]

Hello Fellow Postdocs!

First, the most important link: https://buytickets.at/mit2/2377314

Has this ever happened to you?

Friend: As an MIT Postdoc, you're the coolest person I know.

You: Thanks. I worked really hard to get here, often neglecting things such as work life balance, family, friends and sometimes even showering. I really appreciate you still thinking I'm cool despite my occasional lapses in basic hygiene.

Friend: Don't worry about it! No smell is as unsettling as the combination of body odor, banana and burnout that you find in the MIT Banana Lounge, so you're doing pretty well by comparison. What are you doing tonight?

You: I'd love to hang out, but I'm going to Satellite Brewery on Weds, Sep 30, 7-11pm to see local band Feather Weather, eat some light bites and hang out with other (definitely showered) MIT postdocs. Tickets are for MIT only<https://www.tickettailor.com/events/mit2/2377314>, so you can't come.

Friend: Bummer. Guess I'll just spend Wednesday night wishing I'd spent less time showering while you have a groovy time with your postdoc friends.

Luckily, this will never happen again. We are opening up the event this Weds to non-MIT guests, so if you have a significant other or friend who wants to come, there should be space for them. Just have them input your MIT info when they buy a ticket (or you can just buy it for them when you check out).

So excited to see you all this coming Weds.

Love,

Your community building Co-Chair

Jake "Donates to Chair-ity" Hoffman
