Dear Postdoctoral Scholars,

Do you have questions about consulting, entrepreneurship, teaching, or other opportunities that are separate from your funded postdoctoral research? Although postdocs do not have permitted time<https://coi.mit.edu/coc/coc-policy/coc-definitions#permitted-time> to engage in these activities, a review process exists for activities that will support your career development, and that are short-term/temporary. This process must be completed before you engage in an opportunity. For more information about the review process, please visit these links:

Outside Professional Activities (OPAs) as a Postdoc<https://postdocs.mit.edu/career-development/outside-professional-activities-opas-postdoc>
Postdocs and Researchers Without Permitted Time for OPAs<https://coi.mit.edu/fcoi/community-coi-portal/permitted-time/postdocs-researchers>

Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. We will be holding an information/Q&A session in April, stay tuned for details!

Best,
Ann
