Nominations close today (8/7/25) at 11:59pm – the following committees still need nominees: Library System, Hobby Shop, and Community & Belonging
Dear Postdoctoral Scholars:
The call for self-nominations for Institute Committees is now open -
Committee participation is an excellent way build professional skills and use your expertise and interests to connect with people beyond your research group. Your viewpoint as a postdoctoral scholar is important for the committees to carry out their respective missions.
The following committees are taking nominations for the 2025-2026 academic year. Descriptions of each committee can be found here<https://facultygovernance.mit.edu/committees-and-councils>. Note: please contact Ann Skoczenski<mailto:annskocz at mit.edu> with questions about any committees.
* Council on Community and Belonging
* Distinguished Fellowships, Presidential Committee on (must be a previous recipient of one of these fellowships: Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, Gates, Churchill or Schwarzman)
* Family and Work, Council on
* Hobby Shop, Committee on the (must be Hobby Shop member for at least 1 year)
* Library System, Committee on
* MITAC Advisory Council
* Radiation Protection, Committee on
* Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response, Committee on
* Toxic Chemicals, Committee on
* Use of Humans as Experimental Subjects, Committee on the
* Women’s Advisory Group
To apply for committee membership, please complete all three steps:
1. Consider which committee is best for your interests/expertise. Most committees meet monthly, and overall service is typically a maximum 2-3 hours per month. Apply only if you expect to be appointed at MIT through May 2026.

3. Send a copy of your CV in pdf format to annskocz at mit.edu<mailto:annskocz at mit.edu>. Include your name in the file name.
