Buddy Program Reopening
The PDA Community Building Committee reopened the Buddy Program! This initiative is designed to connect postdocs with colleagues outside of their immediate academic circle to help them build a supportive community. Sign up by completing the registration form (https://forms.gle/4zBbQ52jfGL7wyC28) and you will be matched with 2 or 3 other postdocs at MIT. You will receive a gift card so you can meet for coffee/tea! We will make matches four times a year, with the first one happening at the end of September. Registration for this chapter will close on September 20th.

MIT In-Person Career Fair
The PDA Career Development Committee wants to remind the community about the in-person career fair happening on September 20th at 120 Vassar Street. More than 150 local and international companies are registered to attend. You can register to attend the fair through your MIT handshake account between now and September 20th.

At least 61 companies will be recruiting postdoctoral fellows for full time, co-ops, internship, and fellowship positions. If you need to revamp your resume prior to the fair, MIT Career Advising & Professional Development (CAPD) will be hosting a session on September 12 on how to do this. For International postdocs on a J1 visa, at least 38 companies are willing to sponsor a work visa whereas for international postdocs on an F1 visa, at least 31 companies will accept an OPT. You can log into your Handshake to find out who these employers are.
