Join the Nucleate Global Virtual Activator Leadership Team!

Nucleate is a student-run 503(c) non-profit started 6 years ago by Harvard and MIT students, dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in biotechnology. Backed by sponsors like Genentech, Eli Lilly, Alnylam, and Schmidt Futures, Nucleate's flagship accelerator program, Activator, has graduated over 300 biotech startup teams from around the world, which have collectively raised $310M+ USD in venture funding and created hundreds of jobs.

You might have heard from the leadership team at our flagship <https://www.linkedin.com/company/nucleate-boston> Nucleate Boston Chapter<https://www.linkedin.com/company/nucleate-boston>, who has recently recruited an awesome cohort this year–be on the lookout for their 2024 Activator events.

Nucleate is now a global organization, and we are recruiting additional leadership members!

To address the need for an Activator program similar to the one started right here in Boston, particularly in emerging markets and regions without a Nucleate chapter (yet), we launched the Global Virtual Activator last year. This allows any team with promising technologies to participate in our equity-free accelerator, gaining unprecedented access to a world-class cohort of advisors, investors, and peers.

We are now in our second year, and have just accepted a finalist cohort of nascent biotech startups in areas relating to biomanufacturing, medical devices, lab automation, RNA therapeutics, and more. Our cohort includes teams from 7 countries across 4 continents.

To make this year a success, we are opening up leadership recruitment again to highly motivated and accomplished academic trainees (undergrad and grad students, RAs, postdocs, etc.) to join our team!

The Nucleate Global Virtual Activator Program is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in kick-starting biotech startup formation in emerging markets. By joining our leadership team, you will have the chance to contribute significantly to the program’s success and expand your professional network.

Capacities in which you can get involved:

Curriculum: Help staff our workshops with world-class experts

Cohort Engagement: Work closely with our startup founders

Sponsorships and Partnerships: Help support our program by facilitating relationships with key partners

Communications: Generate high-quality content to tell the world what we’re up to

If you’re interested in joining us on this exciting journey, please email global at nucleate.org to express your interest and provide us with some information about your background and skills.

Best Regards,

Shaye (PhD Candidate, Harvard), Co-Managing Director

Will (PhD Candidate, MIT), Co-Managing Director

Join Engine Ventures for a Conversation on Funding Climate Tech Startups, on January 30th

Dynamics in Funding Climate Tech Startups

Time: Tuesday January 30, 5:00 – 6:30 pm, followed by casual drinks.

Location: The Engine, 750 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02139.

Even as the fundraising environment has gotten more unpredictable, ambitious climate companies continue to grow and scale towards their goals of big impact. Furthermore, we’re seeing lots of tailwinds driven by non-dilutive opportunities and other market dynamics. Join Engine Ventures for an evening of open discussion on what it takes next for massive impact in climate, including:

  * Engine Ventures’ General Partner Michael Kearney reflecting on what we’ve learned from the last six years in the Tough Tech ecosystem, and findings regarding recent climate tech financings.

  * A discussion with a VC-backed Tough Tech Founder on the journey thus far and how they’re approaching scaling.

  * An open conversation with you all about what excites you, what feels unknown, and your thinkings with respect to embarking on your own Tough Tech adventures.

Following the program session, we invite you to stay and mingle at an informal happy hour. Please note that space is limited and we appreciate your speedy response. To confirm your attendance, please fill out this RSVP form<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfMhmMv4TqKKb4-B2rviBLMGy2OE2LgETeLW6-LooCvbySTyw/viewform?usp=sf_link> no later than January 23th.

Best,

The Engine Ventures Team
