Dear Postdoctoral Scholars,
I am writing to make you aware of two upcoming webinars for the staff, postdoctoral and faculty community to help with processing distressing events and navigating difficult conversations. Staff members in all roles are welcome. Dates, times, more details, and links to join<https://hr.mit.edu/worklife/seminars/navigating-uncertainty> are available on the Human Resources website (Touchstone required); registration is not required.
Navigating Uncertainty During Troubling Times
Many of us are experiencing heightened levels of worry and collective grief. This webinar will provide tools to navigate your emotional responses to tragedy, and cope with feelings of trauma and anger.
Fostering a Compassionate Community to Handle Difficult Conversations
When operating under added pressures and uncertainties, communication patterns change, which may lead to miscommunication. This webinar addresses the cognitive biases affected by stress and how to optimize communication, tone, and active listening techniques.
