Good morning,

We at POWER want to survey ALL postdocs to hear your thoughts on parental leave and childcare policies at MIT.

Also, if you are a parent or parent-to-be, we want to hear from you about whether your childcare and parental leave needs have been sufficiently met while working here.

All answers will remain anonymous and we will be presenting these data to MIT leadership in the near future. Your thoughts and feedback on this issue is important and greatly appreciated.

The survey<https://forms.gle/Sr4FZ9HHA3hdajh96> will remain open until June 1st (it should take less than 5 minutes to complete).

Experience of Parental Leave and Childcare as a Postdoc/Research Scientist at MIT<https://forms.gle/Sr4FZ9HHA3hdajh96>
MIT grants a total of 20 weeks of maternity leave: 8 weeks of sick leave to birth mothers at 100% regular pay, 4 weeks of paid parental leave at 100% pay, and 8 weeks of bonding leave paid at State Formula Rate https://hr.mit.edu/employee-leaves/overview MIT provides childcare services to its community through four Technology Childcare Centers (TCC)—three on the Cambridge campus and one in Lexington near MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory. We at POWER want to survey all postdocs and research scientists at MIT to determine whether these policies and services are sufficient, and if you are a parent or parent-to-be, we want to hear from you about whether your childcare and parental leave needs have been sufficiently met while working here. All answers will remain anonymous and we plan on presenting these data to MIT leadership some time in the near future.
