Dear Postdoctoral Scholars,
The deadline is approaching for postdoc positions on Institute Committees. These committees are appointed by the MIT President’s Office, and postdoc nominations are administered through Postdoctoral Services/VPR. As of this morning, three committees have zero nominations: Council on Family and Work, Human Subjects, and the Community Service Board. See below for more details.
Best regards,
Ann
Are you looking for a way to expand your professional experience and contribute to the MIT community? Several Institute Committees are seeking nominations from MIT-appointed postdocs (Postdoctoral Associates and Postdoctoral Fellows) for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Why serve on an Institute Committee? Committee participation is an excellent way build professional skills and use your expertise and interests to connect with people beyond your research group. Your viewpoint as a postdoctoral scholar is important for the committees to carry out their respective missions. This is a great way for postdoc voices to be heard by senior leadership.
The following committees are taking nominations at this time*. Click on each committee name for a description of its work. Note: please contact Ann Skoczenski<mailto:annskocz at mit.edu> with questions about any committees.

*Several additional Institute Committees have active postdoctoral scholars as members; those listed above have current openings for 2022-2023, and others have postdocs continuing for a second year.
To apply for committee membership, please complete all three steps:
1. Consider which committee is best for your interests/expertise. Consider your schedule and be sure that you can make time to be an active, engaged committee member (most committees meet monthly, and overall service is typically a maximum 2-3 hours per month). Apply only if you expect to be appointed at MIT through May 2023.
2. Fill out the application survey here<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F5DNJW3>.
3. Send a copy of your CV in pdf format to annskocz at mit.edu<mailto:annskocz at mit.edu>. Use this format to name your CV file: [committee name]_[FirstnameLastname].pdf, E.G. CommunityServiceFund_AnnSkoczenski.pdf
