We will be holding a meeting this Wednesday August 11th at 1:00, but please respond even if you cannot make that time so that we can keep you in the loop. Attendees will receive a $5 gift card to acknowledge your time.

This is a great opportunity to learn more for anyone interested in running in the upcoming PDA Elections for either the DE&I or Advocacy Chair.

Dear Postdocs,

We will be holding a special meeting of the MIT Postdoctoral Association’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and the Advocacy Committee on Wednesday August 11th at 1:00. If you are working in your department, or have worked in the past to advocate for postdocs and work on the goals of diversity, equity and inclusion, we invite you to join this meeting. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get involved with advocacy or DE&I at MIT!

At the meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet postdocs from across the institute with similar goals, and the postdocs that have been working with the committees over the last months and years. We will cover some of the accomplishments and activities of the committees including reports on postdoc hiring and housing, postdoc sections of MIT’s strategic plans, official status and recognition for MIT’s postdoc groups (qtPhD’s<https://qtphds.mit.edu>, the BPG<https://bpg.mit.edu> and POWER<https://pda.mit.edu/events/power/>), and more!

The committee chair roles will be open in the coming year, and anyone is welcome to consider running in the coming elections. We especially encourage new postdocs to consider running (no prior experience at MIT necessary!), and to come to this meeting to learn more.
