Dear MIT Postdocs,
Arkell Immigration Team at the Dunn Law Firm will be presenting a free event for the MIT PDA, delivered via Zoom. They would address the latest developments in U.S. immigration policy and respond to any questions international postdocs might have. They could also conduct individual consultations with those interested in applying for permanent residence.
The presentation would feature Tom Arkell, their senior partner at Dunn Law Firm, which was established in 1915 and is one of the oldest law firms in Illinois. Their current team has a combined 100 years of dedicated immigration experience. Here is a link to their website where you can learn more about them: www.nationalinterestwaivers.com.
Apart from MIT, they have presented at Harvard, University of Michigan, USC, University of California-San Diego, Penn State University, Ohio State University, University of Illinois, University of Florida, and University of Notre Dame, to name a few.
The presentation covers applications for green cards (permanent residence), National Interest Waiver and Extraordinary Ability petitions, H-1B visas after graduation, and recent changes in U.S. immigration.
Topics include:
· Applications for Permanent Residence ('green cards')
· NIW (National Interest Waiver) petitions for researchers and entrepreneurs
· Extraordinary Ability (EB-1A) petitions
· Transitioning from F-1 OPT or J-1 to H-1B and issues related to the 'H-1B cap'
