A note from INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT NETWORK:
The International Support Network<https://groups.mit.edu/webmoira/list/international-support-network> is a network for international students, researchers, and employees, formed to provide community support, and advocate for collective concerns. We recently responded to MIT's new policy on remote appointments for graduate students with an open letter<https://tinyurl.com/mit-overseas-funding-letter>, calling upon the university to rescind the policy, and enable as many graduate students to work overseas as possible.
A similar policy is being applied to faculty, post-docs and staff currently working abroad, who are being advised to return to the US by Feb 16, if possible. If you are affected by this policy, and would like to advocate in coalition with ongoing graduate student efforts, please reach out to international-support-admin at mit.edu<mailto:international-support-admin at mit.edu>. We are hoping to learn more about the situation for overseas post-docs, and what we might be able to do together in response. If you'd like to express your concerns anonymously, you can also share them in this form<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdGvZXdHusOMxo88vd27rqGUC8-W31LJ2hX_-kjvLhrbjTolQ/viewform>. We look forward to hearing from you.
PDA comment: We encourage interested postdocs to join the ISN email list to learn more, and affected postdocs may contact the Director of Postdoctoral Services (annskocz at mit.edu).
