Weekly Highlights

 PDA Monthly Meeting<https://pda.mit.edu/events/pda-monthly-meeting-9/>
Elections to the following interim roles in the current MIT PDA term ending August 31, 2019 will be held during our next PDA monthly meeting on June 11, 2019
a) Treasurer of the MIT PDA
b) Recording Secretary of the MIT PDA
c) Co-Chair of IT & Information Committee

Role of the Treasurer
a) Follow all MIT financial procedures and keep a systematic financial record of the MIT PDA’s finances
b) Report on PDA’s finances upon the request of the President
c) Coordinate the generation of a working budget for the MIT PDA, which will be presented and voted on at a MIT PDA General Meeting within 60 days of the general election
d) Facilitate and coordinate purchases and reimbursements for the MIT PDA

Role of the Recording Secretary
a) Keep the minutes of General Meetings, including attendance
b) Be responsible for the PDA records, including a good working knowledge of the MIT PDA Constitution and Bylaws
c) Ensure that the PDA Constitution and Bylaws are kept up to date and ensure the Constitution and Bylaws are properly followed
d) Maintain an active list of all officers of the PDA

Role of the IT & Information Committee Co-Chair
a) Set up efficient communication and publicity systems (i.e. Email Listserv, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook groups, etc.)
b) Maintain an up-to-date internet site of resources and information

To be eligible you have to be a current postdoc at MIT and can nominate yourself for any one position advertised. If you are interested in running, please email pda-president at mit.edu by June 5th, 2019 with details of your name, current title at MIT, less than 200 word statement on why you believe you make a good fit for the position as well as plans once you get elected (this statement will be made public and sent to all current MIT postdocs through the newsletter). On the day of the elections you will be asked to give a short speech and elections will be held.
