TODAY: Does Your CV and Resume Communicate the Right Message?
Thursday, March 14th   1:30-3:00pm   Rm. 26-100

In preparation for future job searches and upcoming Career Fairs, this workshop will discuss the many ways of creating a CV/resume that effectively targets the Hiring Committee. Can your document survive a 15 second scan and still get into the YES pile? Whether you may target academia, industry, or both, discussions will surround the strategies of effective messaging and how to be "on-point" with your written communication. Your CV and resume needs to highlight a list of relevant accomplishments that links your skills to the needs of the institution/company. You'll use these techniques in your lifelong career strategies. Actual MIT PhD/Postdoc resumes and CV's will be provided as handouts.
