Dr. Michele Ostraat Advanced Materials Leader for the Aramco Research Center – Boston

  * Dr. Michele Ostraat, Advanced Materials Leader for the Aramco Research Center – Boston, serves in a leadership role directing a technical team in applied research in chemistry, materials science, and engineering. Her team translates materials discovery into commercial opportunities for diverse technologies, including membranes for gas separation, porous materials for catalysis, and advanced composites for corrosion resistance.Prior to joining Aramco, she held numerous technical positions with increased responsibilities spanning new product and process development, prototyping, research and development portfolio management, and technology transfer. Michele was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Labs and Agere Systems, examining the synthesis of rare-earth doped aerosol nanoparticles and investigating the behavior of chalcogenide phase change materials. At DuPont’s Experimental Station, she focused on aerosol synthesis and characterization of sub-micron and nanoparticles for advanced electronic application sand the occupational safety and health of nanomaterials. As Senior Director at RTI International, Michele led scientific teams developing products and applications for aerosols and nanomaterials for energy, defense, and health-related technologies. Michele earned her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, CA. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Rajesh Jugulum, Global Director for Data Strategies @ CIGNA, former VP at BOA

  * Rajesh Jugulum, Ph.D., is Informatics Director at Cigna. Prior to joining Cigna, he held executive positions in the areas of process engineering and data science at Citi Group and Bank of America. Rajesh completed his Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Genichi Taguchi. Before joining financial industry, Rajesh did his post doctoral education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, involving in research and teaching. Currently, he also teaches at Northeastern University, Boston. Rajesh is a Board of Director of Kanri, a big data analytics firm, focusing on purpose-driven insights. Rajesh is the author/co-author of several papers and five books including books on robust quality, data quality and design for lean six sigma. Rajesh is an ASQ fellow and his other honors include American Society for Quality’s Feigenbaum medal and International Technology Institute’s Rockwell medal. He has been listed in the “Who’s Who in the World” list by Marquis Who’s Who publication board. He was featured as “Face of Quality” in the September, 2001 issue of Quality Progress magazine and his profile was published in the October 2002 issue of the Journal of Quality Engineering Society. Rajesh has delivered talks as the keynote speaker at several conferences, symposiums, and events related to data analytics and process engineering. He has also delivered lectures at several universities/companies across the globe and participated as a judge in data related competitions.
