Dear Postdocs,
Would you like to build your leadership skills to advance your career? If the answer is yes, please join the MIT Office of Postdoctoral Services next week at this seminar designed to help you gain leadership experience during your postdoc training.

Becoming a Leader: Cultivating Leadership Skills for Career Success

This seminar, for MIT postdoctoral scholars, focuses on building leadership skills during postdoctoral training. Tangible examples will be provided on how to become involved with campus organizations (like the MIT Postdoctoral Association) and committees, academic groups, industry organizations, non‐profit organizations, and networking groups. Being active in these types of roles builds leadership, management, presentation, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills. Leadership ability is tremendously valuable as you build your career, and is sought after by employers.

Speaker Bio: Lauren Celano is the co-founder and CEO of Propel Careers, a life science search and career development firm focused on connecting talented individuals with entrepreneurial life sciences companies. Lauren has worked with postdoctoral scholars in many disciplines, to help them prepare for their next career steps.
