Guest Bio:
Ms. Desai has more than 18 years of healthcare management experience helping providers, health plans, life sciences firms and Federal health agencies overcome their diverse challenges. As such, she has accumulated deep expertise across the healthcare industry including some of the most pertinent of this post reform era keeping her at the forefront of healthcare innovation. Being the change agent she is, she has led teams to deliver engagements involving health reform planning & implementation, market research analysis, business case development, strategic planning, health information technology, and quality, operational and process improvement. She has a proven track record of effectively assessing, developing, conceptualizing new initiatives and programs in addition to executing program implementation along with multidisciplinary professionals and clinicians.
She is also involved with her community – both the one where she lives and the one where she is from. Ms. Desai has served as a Board of Director for Community Impact, the student volunteer community services organization of Columbia University and has held several leadership positions including Chair, Fundraising chair and is currently co-chair of Community Impact’s Alumni Organization. Ms. Desai also serves as a Founding Donor and Advisory Board Member for the Game Theory Academy based in San Francisco, whose mission is to teach critical thinking and economic/financial literacy to at-risk youths. Ms. Desai is also a Trustee of The Desai Foundation; crafting programs including those that improve social, health and economic life in the villages of India, and implementing educational programs to improve health in the United States.
She holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia College of Columbia University and received an M.B.A. with a focus in Strategy from the Yale University School of Management.
